Christmas Jumper Day

Friday 15th December 2017

Everyone had an absolutely brilliant day raising lots of money for ‘Save the Children’. We all wore our silliest and most festive jumpers and donated £1. The teachers all took part in a hilarious jumping competition- well done to Mrs Potter who was the winner and to Miss Vines and Miss Lane who were runners-up.

After school we had a cake sale and raised even more money. Thank you to everyone who brought a cake and a big thank-you to all who donated cakes.

Each child also designed a new jumper for Ms Cooper… well done to Bryan in Year 4 who won for his amazing design!

Christmas Jumper Day 2017

Monday 11th December 2017

Congratulations to our wonderful Orchestra who warmed us all up this morning with their traditional Christmas Concert, including the usual mixture of solo and full Orchestral performances. Thank you to everyone who attended this morning to support our talented musicians.

Please make sure that you are checking the diary for times and dates of events, as there is a great deal happening throughout the coming days in the build up to the end of the term next Wednesday 20th December.

We have been informed this morning that it is possible for families to attend the Grenfell National Memorial Service taking place on Thursday 14th December. To receive tickets, then TODAY you need to attend The Clement James Centre, 95 Sirdar Road, W11 4EQ. Please take photographic ID and proof of address. The representatives from our school who will be attending the Memorial Service will be the Headteacher, Inclusion Manager and our recently elected Head Boy and Girl.

Please find attached a PDF copy of the RBKC Winter Holiday Activity Brochure; this was forwarded to us this morning and we have also ordered paper copies for everyone; they should be arriving this week.

Looking forward to welcoming you over the coming days.

Stay warm !

Winter Holiday Activities 2017

Monday 27th November 2017

Happy Monday !

Monday 27th November marks the start of our Election Campaign for Head Boy and Head Girl. Candidates have already written a detailed letter explaining why they should be considered for this role and then today, they were able to present their ideas to the whole school, followed by an unrehearsed question time. They all did really well, and we are immensley proud of all 15 candidates who each had to deliver a speech with no technology or other props.

Voting will take place throughout the week, with the results being posted on Monday 4th December. Good luck to all our Year 6 Applicants.

Please see below a link to our Safeguarding page where we have uploaded three recently published ‘Think You Know’  Parents and Carers Guides to Snapchat, Facebook and Musical.ly. We hope that you will find these of some use.

PARENT CONSULTATIONS

On Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th November there will be parent consultations for all of our classes (Nursery to year 6).  This will give you an opportunity to talk to your child’s teacher(s) about how they have settled into the year, their progress, targets, next steps and how you can support your child with their learning at home.   The consultation slots are 10 minutes per pupil which is a short amount of time so please make sure you arrive on time to avoid them running over.  If you feel you need more time than this then please make an extended appointment directly with the teacher.

If you are unable to meet your child’s/children’s teacher  during this week or if meeting after school is difficult for you then please speak to the class teacher and they will arrange another time to meet with you that is mutually convenient.

How to sign up for an appointment:

Nursery, Reception & Year 2 –  on the sign-up sheets on the notice boards outside the classroom doors.  The sheets will go up this Thursday 2nd November at 8.45am.

Year 1 – on the sign-up sheets which will be located on the Yr 1 notice boards by the entrance door in the car park.  The sheets will go up this Thursday 2nd November at 8.45am.

Years 3&4 – there will be 2 tables outside the school office, from 8.40 – 9.05 and 3.25-3.45 and for Years 5&6 there will be 2 tables outside the school gate from 8.40-9.05 and 3.25-3.45pm on:

  • Thursday 2nd November
  • Friday 3rd November
  • Monday 6th November
  • Tuesday 7th November

On these tables will be the sign-up lists for the consultations.

If you are unable to come on any of these days or times please either let your child know what days/times are convenient and they can sign up for you or write a note to the teachers with preferred times and days and they will arrange this for you.

If your child is in Years 4-6 then you will need to sign up to see their Maths, Writing and Reading teachers – please make sure you are aware of who these are.

The importance of meeting with your child’s teacher and being aware of their targets does play a crucial part in the development and progress of their learning so please make every effort to take the time to meet with your child’s/children’s class teacher.

Thursday 19th October 2017

Just to say a HUGE WELL DONE to Year 4 who performed a wonderful Diwali Assembly today. They brought much joy and happiness to everyone with songs and a retelling of the story of Rama and Sita,  as well as presenting the facts about this famous Hindu/Sikh Festival.

We were absolutely delighted that so many Parents/Carers took the time out of their daily routines to be with us today. The turnout was tremendous and broke all records ! Thank you for making it such a special morning.

After School Clubs will be starting again in the second week after half term. Please make sure that you register your child for any clubs that you wish them to attend from Tuesday 31st October until Monday 6th November. Clubs will then officialy start on Monday 6th November. They will return with smiles and many fond memories.
