Raising Resilient Children

We are running two seminars called Raising Resilient Children at Oxford Gardens on Tuesday  27th February at 9am (Lower Hall) and 5pm (Techno Lab). We hope you will be able to come along to either of the sessions.

Events in the local community have had an impact on the children that we look after and Total Family Coaching are offering a one off seminar to help you to support your children long term to build resilience and deal with stressful life events. The seminar will be run by a practitioner from Total Family Coaching who have been supporting the local community in various community spaces across the borough since the Grenfell fire. More information on Totally Family Coaching can be found here

You are welcome to come and bring friends or family members you feel would benefit from attending the seminar along with you. Refreshments will be available too.

Raising resilient children:

Parents are introduced to six core building blocks for children to manage their feelings and become resilient in dealing with life stress.

These competencies are:

  • Recognising and accepting feelings
  • Expressing feelings appropriately
  • Building a positive outlook
  • Developing coping skills
  • Dealing with negative feelings
  • Dealing with stressful life events

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the seminars next week.

World Book Day

As part of the World Book day celebrations, we will be holding a Dressing up day for the children on Thursday 1st March. We would like the children to dress up as their favorite book character on this day and bring the book that the character came from with them.

We really look forward to seeing all of the amazing costumes and characters enter the gates of OGPS.

If you have any questions please ask your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continued support.
