This morning we had our annual Leavers’ Assembly and End of Year Awards Ceremony.  The Year 6 pupils spoke with emotion about their memories at Oxford Gardens and will be hugely missed, they are a characterful year group and their absence in the school will certainly be felt next year.

Each year the teachers have the very difficult task of choosing only a few pupils to win an award, this is always a very tricky task as there are so many pupils the teachers would like to give an award to.  Please click HERE to see the list of pupils who were selected to win an award this year.

As always we have had a busy year filled with lots of exciting learning experiences. Here are some highlights of the year:

  1. Two Primary Future events – one which focused on careers that involve Writing and another that looked at different careers in Science.
  2. Numerous sporting achievements including our Year 4 boys winning the borough finals.
  3. A thrilling university challenge styled reading competition in which nine of our Year 6 students represent OGPS and were the borough champions.
  4. Year 1 Phonics Screening results which continued to increase – this year achieving 91%.
  5. At the end of Key Stage SATS the pupils achieved our best ever GDS (greater depth standard) results for Year 2 and another year of excellent GDS for Year 6:
